SouthEast Utah, cont.

i have a schload of new pictures, but a fraction of what i want to share. The process is painful, meaning i want the best of each exposure, every pixel of what i saw to come through.  And i beat it to death, trying to get those exposures. What an adventure! What an experience, this corner of the worl d so close to where i call home!

This state i’ve deigned to call home for eighteen years has grudgingly yielded it’s beauty and mystery to such an unknowing outsider. i can now say i’ve been to it’s borders, but it’s interior has been a harder nut to crack.

That’s ok, i’ve got time. But the sheer square kilometers suggest in it’s own sly way that i don’t. i got me a bionic eye now! But the miles i’ve turned under the tire suggest that i don’t, that i’ve got a long way to go to see a fraction of the footage that America calls “Utah”.

Fun with the wide angle lense

So even while the landscape makes fun of me, i’ve got a copilot that is as dedicated to the project as i. And guess what Utah? She’s a native daughter!

SEUT Tour-1996

My co-pilot on this ride was none other than Tania, my faithful cophotographer from ’93. We were celebrating a wedding anniversary, and we were exploring a corner we’d not seen. So, Tania has seen some of this land before, from the unique position of the back of a boat.

We eventually saw some of Lake Powell, (pics to come) but this whole corner was lunar.

if you find yourself in South Eastern Utah, buckle your seatbelt and enjoy the ride. And share the pictures . . .
