A Nice Summer’s Day

We went out golfing today. Gorgeous weather, nice Nine a.m. tee-time, the kinda day i tolerate winters here for.

We met with Tania’s friends Liota and Mike from high school. They found each other on facebook, before Tania’s reunion. They had said something today that made all of us laugh – “We’ve been looking for you guys a long time. Another childless couple willing to golf on Sundays.”
Tania and i both had a few spectacular shots. i dropped a 25 footer to save par on the first par 5. Tania made birdie on the third par 5. i nearly chipped in Liota said “about ten times!”. Thanks, but i was inside the leather only a small handfull. My short game, once my saving grace, is coming around. i think Chad was right – i had to find the bottom of my swing again after surgery. The bonus is my long game. i never had a good one before.
So, heading into the last professional major championship of the year, and a time of year Tania and i would’ve hung up the clubs, we are finding our game. This year is nice because we’re now finding people to share it with . . .
